Brief Description: Social studies lesson about methods of transportation used 100 years ago and today.
Classroom context:

This lesson took place in a self-contained class in a K-5 elementary school. There were 24 students and about 50% of the students in the class are English learners or have limited English proficiency (LEP), with most having intermediate or higher level language skills in English. This lesson occurred in late March and early April, about 8 months after the start of the school year.
