| View News Home Congratulations Ruth Kim! Ruth Kim, one of the Education Department’s Ph.D. students, is the recipient of a $10,000 dissertation award from the Stanford Center on Adolescence. The Stanford Center on Adolescence supports young scholars pursuing research related to youth purpose. This national competition is funded by grants from the Templeton Foundation and the Thrive Foundation for Youth to bring "bright, passionate minds to provide innovative perspectives on the concept [of youth purpose]." She is only the third doctoral candidate to win this award, with four awards in the last two years going to Assistant Professors.
