Teach English Abroad

learningenterprises.org

UCSC student run organization with locations across the U.S. and Europe. Various communities located in Brazil, Croatia, China, Hungary, Mauritius, Mongolia, Panama, Poland, Romania, and Thailand reach out to our organization to receive teachers willing to volunteer in their communities teaching approximately 6 weeks from 15-20 hours a week. Volunteers do receive a host family within the local community that ensures the volunteer gets a free place to stay and eat while teaching. We do not have any program fees and our goal is expanding horizons through global volunteerism, not voluntourism.

Teach in Panama! Every year, our program sends a cohort of volunteers to the Los Santos province of Panama. There, we teach English for a total of seven weeks during the summer (~June & July) in local public schools. We are hosted by community members in eight different communities which provides our volunteers with a unique and cross-cultural experience. We have been serving this region for more than 10 years thanks to the relationships we have built and their invitation to welcome us back. This program is for students who have a passion for service and a heart for communities, as well as for those who love and wish to expand their Spanish language.
