MA/C Program Admissions Requirements

Admission Requirements:

  1. GPA 3.0 or above
  2. Transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate work
  3. Cultural/Linguistic Diversity
  4. Documented field experience in a formal or informal educational setting with youth at the same age level which the candidate aspires to teach
  5. Letters of Recommendation: 3 to 5  
  6. Basic Skills Requirement (BSR)
  7. Subject Matter Competency Requirement
  8. Certificate of Clearance
  9. Statement of Purpose
  10. Personal History
  11. Academic Writing Sample
  12. Résumé

Applicants seeking Bilingual Authorization must obtain it concurrently with a preliminary multiple subjects or single subject credential. While the state allows the Bilingual Authorization to be obtained after the candidate receives their credential, the UCSC program is a concurrent model.
